Total ear canal ablation (TECA) can be extremely rewarding for the patient and the owner. The surgical procedure is a challenge to the surgeon and should be practiced on cadavers prior to performing in a patient. This video demonstrates pertinent anatomy of the external ear canal and important nervous and vascular structures that should be avoided during surgery. Surgical technique and use of self retaining retractors are demonstrated and described in the video and presentation.
